What is Relationship Therapy? For services that I provide, relationship therapy is a place for INDIVIDUALS to explore themselves outside of and within different relationships. These relationships could be with: partners, friends, family, co-workers, kids. I absolutely love helping clients make sense of the people around them. Sometimes it's: * needing help with dating * breakups/divorce * navigating unhealthy people * domestic violence and abuse * learning how to communicate and set boundaries with loved ones * figuring out why something feels off in a relationship * learning about oneself to better a relationship * gaining confidence to feel secure in relationships I've worked with clients who are in or have been in significantly unhealthy relationships that have impacted their day to day life, views of themselves and others, as well as their future. Helping clients navigate difficult relationships is a passion. Reach out if you have more questions about individual relationship therapy.

Reimbursement for Out-of-Network BenefitsDepending on your insurance it is possible that they may reimburse you for a portion of your therapy session cost. There are some caveats to this, so make sure you check with your insurance provider if you have questions. HMO networks do not provide out-of-network benefits, so they will not reimburse for out-of-network therapy sessions. HSA (Health Savings Account). Some companies provide you with HSA funds. That can be utilized for therapy. Ask your company how to do this. PPO/EPO insurance, for the most part, do have out-of-network benefits. If you choose to submit your therapy sessions for reimbursement know that it will more than likely be applied to your out-of-network deductible first. Usually, out-of-network deductibles will also apply to your in-network deductible, but not always. Once the out-of-network deductible is met then your insurance will start reimbursing you for therapy. They typically will not reimburse you the full amount of your session cost and the reimbursement amount is based on the insurance's standard contracted rate. Ex: If you pay $200 and insurance reimburses you $100...you had a $100 therapy session. If you are submitting your superbills for reimbursement most insurances allow you to do it online. Know it takes a few weeks turnaround time. I do not communicate with your insurance, so know it will be your responsibility to do so. Makes sure to check those benefits to see if you're eligible!

Does online therapy work?Yes! Forget the stress of having to commute to session. When we are in a comfortable space we can do great things. Online therapy from anywhere in California provides you the luxury of being in cozy clothes with coffee, snacks, or maybe your pet for extra support. All you need is a good internet connection and the determination to craft up something unique for yourself. Research also shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy.

What type of clients do you work with?I work with women in their 30s and 40s and specialize in anxiety, self-esteem, and chronic illness. I work with women who: Have the intention to learn, grow, and adopt new ways of thinking. Changing our thoughts and patterns, even minimally, can pay off big Are open-minded, self-aware, and ready to look inward. Self-reflection is crucial to unlocking stuck points and helping you move forward. Can be accountable and honest with themselves and me. Sometimes our thoughts, actions, and life don’t look pretty, but I’m not here to judge! Are excited to put in the extra work outside of session. Putting in the effort creates lasting change that you’ll actually want to celebrate. Have a sense of humor and want to have fun along the way. Therapy does NOT have to be stuffy, boring, and methodical. Therapy may not be for you if you: Only want to do work in session. Growth and change require additional effort that exceed what a weekly therapy session can provide Want a quick fix. I wish there was an easy button to create the life you want! Unfortunately, it takes time. Know the investment in yourself pays out in kickass ways you might not expect. Just want to vent, get advice, or have someone to solve their problems. I can guide you through any difficulty, but I will challenge you to come to solutions on your own. Don’t like being vulnerable. Being vulnerable and looking at the things we don’t like about life and ourselves is the worst, but it delivers beautiful insights that make the discomfort well worth it. Are not open to hearing new perspectives or feedback. Sometimes we get lost in one way of thinking and acting. I’m here to help you see the whole picture to create a better understanding of yourself. Want an on-call therapist. Therapy involves building the understanding and comfort in knowing that you can do new and difficult things on your own between sessions. If you're not sure where you fall, schedule a consultation and we can sort out what's best for you and your path forward!

How long will therapy take? How wonderful would it be if therapy only lasted a month or two?! Typically, therapy is a process that requires a good chunk of time. Depending on what you are seeking therapy for it can last anywhere from 6 months and onward. It's normal for therapy to take time because usually, my clients are building new ways of thinking, ways they interact with the world, and new behaviors. You didn't learn those less-than-desirable patterns/ways of thinking/emotional avoidance overnight, so the same goes for building a better emotional and behavioral foundation for yourself. However, I am not a therapist that will keep you in therapy for no reason. We will have conversations about how therapy is going, what works and what doesn't, and what you need to move forward. The goal is to get you to where you want to be without therapy.

What is an LMFT?Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist! Just because my license title says marriage and family it DOES NOT meant I cannot see individuals. I only see individuals in my practice. Licenses are weird and this is the primary license type in the state of California. Every state is different, but it all boils down to having a license to provide psychotherapy.
